Elena obtained a human physiotherapy degree at The Ohio State University in the USA. She worked as a human physiotherapist in the USA and NZ for many years. She previously owned PhysiotherapyNZ Ltd in Christchurch which comprised numerous physiotherapy private practices.
Elena went on to study at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in the USA and then became an instructor on the CRI course in the USA and Australia. Elena is Secretary of the New Zealand Animal and Veterinary Physiotherapy Association,
Elena loves to share her skills and knowledge and runs rehabilitation courses for veterinarians and nurses around the world (before Covid!).
Elena is passionate about philanthropy and has a clinic in Spain within a rescue sanctuary for Galgos (Spanish Greyhounds). Closer to home, Elena co-founded Street Tails
which helps provide basic veterinary care, physiotherapy treatments, grooming and distribution of food, jackets and bedding for homeless people’s dogs in Christchurch.
Elena has an X-racing Greyhound, a 24 year old tabby cat and a rescued Chihuahua/Foxy cross. Elena loves walking her dogs, mountain biking, yoga, skiing and reading.
